Troop 57 was first chartered April, 1949 and was originally sponsered by the Sullivan Gardens Civic Club. Troop 57 has been meeting continuously for over 50 years and is currently sponsored by the Glen Alpine United Methodist Church. The alumni of Troop 57 include many community leaders. Our first Leader was Mr.Clifford Walker, who had 19 scouts & 1 explorer in the first chartered troop.
    Scouts join Troop 57 to learn scouting skills, including first aid, outdoor activities and leadership skills, to be part of a group with similar interests and to have fun. Along the way, we manage to inject a spirit of good citizenship, a sense of helping others, some varied leadership experiences and a feeling of being part of a larger community.

We meet on Monday evenings @ 7:00 PM at the Glen Alpine United Methodist Church in Sullivan Gardens (Get map).
     We welcome scouts from all parts of the Fall Branch and Sullivan Gardens Area. Our Current Scoutmaster is Mr. Joe Riggs, Joe become Scoutmaster in 2003. Joe was a scout until 1979 then became Assistant Scoutmaster until 2003. He received his Eagle Scout Award in 1978. He is a Silver Beaver Award* and District Award of Merit** recipient (aka Pioneer Award). He is a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and a recipient of the Founder's Award.
